we kicked off the weekend w/ a little spooky pj's pumpkin pancake feast w/ some friends
mimi and aunt linda were in town for the weekend so we got to have a few meals with them. they brought the kids a few halloweeny things like spiders (wes was STOKED) and a cute halloween hat for tatem. thanks for coming to visit mimi and aunt linda!!
saturday we had a few parties - one was a costume one w/ some of my fave people. it was so adorable seeing all the kids dressed up.
sunday we carved pumpkins - seeing wesley's face when we turn out the lights and light the jack-o-lanterns makes me smile.
he is so enamored by it all. i lit them the next morning too before he came into the kitchen and he was just over the moon.
we have spent halloween w/ our friends (ex-neighbors) for i think 5 years now... before we had wes, we would walk around the neighborhood trick-or-treating w/ just matt, jj and violet. now there are 4 kids between the 2 couples!

wes was SO adorable trick-or-treating. after 2 houses he said we had to go home and we told him that we had just started. his eyes were so wide, not able to wrap his mind around the fact that he was going to get even MORE candy. he only had 2 little pieces in his bucket and he thought that was it -- ha! then he started to run along side violet saying "i have been waiting all year for halloween and now we are IN HALLOWEEN! it's my favorite holiday!" or "we're trick-or-treating! we're trick-or-treating!" andy and i just smiled at e/o about a billion times - he really got it this year, and it was a hit. :)
the after-party... violet teaches wes how to count his loot :) (and tatem desperately tries to get in on the action)
